Kim Victoria Cattrall is an Canadian actor of the English nationality born on August 21st 1956. Her most famous role as Samantha Jones, in the HBO series Sex and the City. The series has earned five Emmy Award nods and received four Golden Globe Award noms. In 2002, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting actress. In the years 2008 and 2010 she reprised her role as Samantha Jones in the two films Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. Her leading parts include Police Academy Big Trouble from Little China Mannequin, and Porky's from the 1980s. Kim Cattrall's role in the HBO TV sitcom Sex & the City is the most memorable. The actress was born in Sweden's Skane and did modeling before she started her acting career. She eventually won the Miss Sweden contest. She moved to the US, and began appearing in a variety of films, playing minor characters. In the film Abbott and Costello Go to Mars she was described as a Venusian. Her role was soon recognized with the Golden Globe award in the Most Promising Newcomer category, after her appearance in the film Blood Alley.
